Jordan opens toothbrush factory for kids

 

The toothbrush factory invites children to create their own “fantasy-toothbrush” by piecing colors, characters and symbols together. The kids will simultaneously be asked questions related to dental hygiene, in order to increase their awareness on this subject. Completed toothbrushes will be placed in a virtual gallery, and the creators will have the chance to win their own toothbrush collection in addition to other exciting prizes.

Good habits begin early
– The dental hygiene statistics in Norway show that one out of five five-year olds had caries in 2008. This is the lowest share of caries recorded since we started collecting data in 1985, says Dental Hygienist in Jordan Renate Derås.
– However, the development of caries in kids’ teeth after they begin school is a reason for concern. More than half of all Norwegian twelve-year olds-, and a total of eight out of ten 18-year olds had caries last year. We know that the foundation of good dental hygiene is laid at a young age, and it is therefore important to make sure that children avoid cavities, especially in the early years of school, Derås says.

Derås hopes the launching of Jordan’s toothbrush-factory will increase both parents’ and children’s enthusiasm and knowledge about dental hygiene.

Motivational toothbrushes
In addition to the new toothbrush factory, Jordan is also launching new toothbrushes this fall, especially tailored for children. The toothbrushes have exciting motives and figurines that further the children’s motivation to brush their teeth. Jordan’s toothbrushes for kids “grow with the children”, and are designed to clean the teeth of kids aged 0-2, 3-5 and 6-8.
